What do we believe?

We, The Windsor Village Church Family believe in the classical Christian doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ.  These beliefs are best summarized in the Apostle's Creed, one of the oldest declarations of basic Christian faith.

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried; He descended to the dead. The third day he rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven and seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit. I believe in the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

What does it mean to be a Christian?

To be a Christian, simply put, is to be a Jesus-follower—to do what Jesus did and to act like Jesus' acted. However, we are only able to truly act like Jesus when our minds are being transformed into "the mind of Christ" through the ongoing, renewing work of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 2). We were created in God's image to rule and reign in the earth as God's ambassadors of wholeness, peace, joy, healing, righteousness, etc. (Genesis 1:26-28).

How do I become a Christian?

Initiating the Christian journey can be done in three easy steps.  Admit Sin.  (Telling God I'm sorry for trying to live life on my terms and not His).  Turn Around.  (Telling God that I'm ready to turn live by His terms, receive His forgiveness, walk in the footsteps of Jesus, trust in Him, and receive the renewing presence of the Holy Spirit.)  Say Thank You. (Thanking God for His love, grace, forgiveness, and for the renewing work of Jesus done on the cross.)

Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for dying for me on the cross. I’m sorry for the things in my life that have been wrong. I now turn away from everything that I know is wrong. And I now receive your gift of forgiveness.  I put my trust in what you did on the cross for me. And I ask you, please, to come and fill me with your Holy Spirit, to give me the strength to lead the kind of life that deep down I’m longing to lead. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.

How do I grow in my faith?

Join a vibrant, growing church, like Windsor Village, join a Bible study, and learn to pray. Your church should preach and study from the Bible, and its members should understand what it means to love God, love and serve each other, and love and serve the world.   Prayer is the primary way the Lord gets things done here on earth.  Windsor Village offers a Prayer 101 course that will teach you, in a practical way, how to pray.  (Click here to inquire about the class)

What is a Kingdom Builder?

We here at Windsor Village believe that we are called to build up the Kingdom of God here on earth as it is in Heaven.  That’s why we refer to ourselves as Kingdom Builders. The Kingdom is not only for the distant future but for the here and now.  We are to live as the royal image bearers we are.  Our job is to demonstrate the character of God to our families, jobs, and communities.  We mirror God best and truly become Kingdom Builders when we learn to pray effectively and efficiently, study the Word prudently, worship passionately, and serve the community of faith and those outside our doors with courage and unselfish love.

Community Development

The Windsor Village Church Family has created a strong tradition of meeting the needs of people in the community. By taking the Sanctuary to the streets, God's Word has become flesh and is therefore relevant, practical, and appreciated. Some of Windsor's ministries have grown to become independent non-profit organizations. They are collectively known as The Power Connection.
