To fight our community's food insecurity, and as part of our mission to ensure that no one leaves WHAM hungry, we provide a wide assortment of nutritious produce, organic food, and staples from our Food Pantry Monday thru Friday to all who need it from 10 am-2 pm, Saturdays from 10 am-1 pm for working clients (must provide current check stub to receive this Saturday service), and one Saturday each month at the WHAM Food Fair.

WHAM’s Food Pantry provides a significant supply of groceries for families to prepare nutritional meals, as well as daypacks of non-perishable foods (and perishable food for those with access to storage) to homeless clients.

Our pantry has ample space to follow a client-choice shopping model in which clients are able to select food items for their families in a supermarket shopping environment that promotes dignity and self-respect, and which allows them to choose what their family will eat, and so we can reduce wastage. Clients choose the food they receive, including fresh produce, bread and pastries, meat, dairy products, and canned goods, rather than receiving preselected boxed food.

Accommodations are made for clients with special diets, and aisles are wheelchair-accessible. Personal care items and baby essentials, including diapers, wipes, and formula are provided when available.
