Leonard King is a native of Alabama whose journey in ministry began at an exceptionally early age. He preached his first sermon at just seven years old and was officially licensed to preach at the age of twelve. Later, catechized and ordained an elder under the Baptist doctrines at age 24. His mother, Debbie King, recognized his spiritual gift early on and affirmed the divine calling on his life.
As a young minister, Leonard was mentored by his spiritual covering, Bishop Patrick Bonner Sr., Senior Pastor of Potter’s Place Church. Under Bishop Bonner's leadership, Leonard faithfully served as Youth Minister, Associate Minister, and drummer, cultivating both his leadership and worship gifts in the local church.
In addition to ministry, Leonard excelled in athletics. He was the team captain and offensive lineman at Dallas County High School and continued his football career at Graceland University, where he also served as team captain. During his time at Graceland, Leonard’s ministry expanded as he served as Campus Pastor, President of Fellowship of Graceland Athletes, and Peace and Justice Coordinator—roles that allowed him to provide spiritual guidance and community leadership among his peers.
Leonard graduated from Graceland University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. There he also studied Religion and Philosophy as a minor. Upon graduation, he relocated to Columbia, Missouri, where he began his professional and ministerial journey at Urban Empowerment Ministries. There, under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Lester Woods and Pastor Dr. Christine Woods, Leonard served as a drummer, minister, Elder, and College Connect Coordinator, ministering to and mentoring college students in their spiritual walk.
Currently, Leonard King serves as the Youth Minister at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas—one of the largest and most impactful United Methodist congregations in the nation. In this role, he passionately leads, disciples, and empowers young people to live out their faith with authenticity and purpose.
With over sixteen years of ministry experience, Leonard King remains a humble and dedicated servant of God. His heart beats for people, especially youth and young adults, and his ultimate desire is to glorify God through preaching, worship, and transformational leadership rooted in Scripture.
